Assuming I cleaned the head ports well and installed the gaskets correctly, are the Mr Gasket intake gaskets prone to leak. These have ultra-seal printed all over. I didn't remember these having "intake side" printed on like another set of "ultra seals" I have. I also have a set of blue felpro's that could be more suited for a cast iron intake, but not sure. I've followed the correct torque sequence, used "ultra-black" sealer at the end seals and I leak a small amount of oil on the drivers side at the two center bolts at the intake to gasket seal. One other note and this might be me problem. I'm using a Edelbrock Performer #2101 and can not fit my torque wrench on the center two bolts (each side, by the carb base) and a short socket on a breaker bar will barely fit and I have to guess on the correct torque. Would a different gasket seal better at the head bolts or did I do something wrong. Car runs well anyway http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/smile.gif

Orange77,

Did you use any thread sealer on the threads of your intake bolts??? Pull the bolts back out and apply sealer. The oil can actually travel back up through the threads. I had this same problem this year.

Never gave that a thought Shane, but it does make sense. I'll try that first when it's taking a nap, thanks http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/smile.gif
