I have a set of Dart Iron Eagles(215cc) and my grandfather just gave me a set of 292 heads that have been ported and polished. I dont know any flow #s for the 292 heads. The only thing I know about them is that they were on a 13:1 406 that he had in his 86 Thunderbird(tube chassis car)that ran 9.40's. So, I know they flow well but do they flow as well as the Darts? Here are some pics of the 292 heads. Not sure if they will help but.....

Oh, they will be going on a 11:1 406 with a .576/.582 solid roller, Vic jr.,800 Holley, and NOS Cheater System.

Any suggestion would be a shot in the dark. I'd spend the $'s to have both heads flowed and cc'd. Then you could make an informed decision.
To make a 9 second car doesn't take a tremendous head on a 400,, as long as it's a super light car http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif

Those are the 292 heads??? Wow they look huge compared to stock. They look more like the 215 head to me http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif

My heads look just like your 292 heads they are matched to a special intake gasket(bigger holes than a standard fel-pro)
and my exhasts have more porting than those in the pic, my run great, but if i didn't have money in them id'a went with new stuff will more technology in the runner shape, combustion chamber thats a hard decision you have to make only way to know for sure would be flow'em

I am thinking about having them flowed. I just dont know of anywhere around here that can do it. Anyone have any idea how much that usually costs?

I wasn't aware that even the old muscle car 186,041, 292, and 492 heads would port out that big without breaking through somewhere! Those factory heads typically started out with about a 160-165cc runner size. I'm impressed!!
