Probly a repost but here it is.
My 461 heads are in need of repair again; bent two push rods and brok a rocker stud. So I'm leaning toward alum; but witch ones? What I want to use the car for is a daily driver or at least verry often. No ac now but I might add one next year. Car is a 4 spd, Has a solid lift cam; 510/515 lift but that will go if I use ac. Bottom end is mosly stock running 9.5:1 comp. pistons. Victor Jr intack, Speed demond 750 cacb and roller rockers. Ploblem is too meany heads to choose from. From your exp, witch heads should I go with? like to keep price around $1000.00
I have been looking at these

If you're planning on leaving the stock bottom end, then there's no need for that big of an intake runner. I'd also say be very cautious when buying a "cheap" pair of "brand new" heads. It usually means they are equipped with some off the wall valvetrain parts that can be bought overseas for a lot less than what the good American made stuff can. You really never know what you're getting off Ebay or other folks who claim to have these cheap prices. If it were me, and I planned on keeping the bottom end, I'd simply buy a set of 180cc aluminum heads from AFR. You might want to rethink the single plane intake and 750 cfm carb. A daily driver will benefit more from higher torque #'s in the lower RPM range, even with the 4 speed. I don't really see you spinning your engine more than 5500 rpm in a daily driver....and you probably wouldn't want to do it often anyway with a stock rotating assembly. I'd say an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, 600-650 cfm carb, 180cc intake runner heads, and your current cam or something in that same range would work wonders in a daily driver.

I'd buy a set of Edelbrock RPM heads over the patriots any day. No personal experience, but a fellow racer bought a shafiroff 434 shorblock/cam setup then topped it with a set of CNC ported Patriot heads. He runs an Enderle alky injection in a 2600 pound car. With the old 355 he bought off us the car ran 10.4's with an ancient set of World aluminum sportsman heads, with the new powerplant it runs a pathetic 9.8x's. Yes they are cheap, but in this case the performance number reflects the value of the heads.

I'm thinking of the Brodix IK180 or IK200 not sure yet. Maby I'll fix the 461s for now? I'm trying to get the car ready for the paint shop, so $$$ might go better towards panit at this time. Still like you'r input for future refernces.
Daily driver yes but wimp No. I like to feel the pull when I punch it.

I forgot about the IK180 heads. I have no personal experience, but I've heard some decent reports around the dragstrip here about them. They're well capable of getting you into the upper 300's in hp and into the 400 ft lbs tq range. They'd make for a real fun street engine.

For $1200 or a little Less you can buy the CANFIELD (or the JEGS, same head) 197cc aluminum heads that are 100% complete and ready to go.
Great heads right out of the box, and LOADS of potential for more when the time comes.
