I've got my Hooker Super Comp headers on my 383 now but I'm having problems with the bolts. I've got a set of Mr. Gasket hex bolts, but a few of the bolts are impossible to get to. I've tried using a 3/8 drive hex socket- nowhere close... and a conventional allen wrench which won't fit it either. I appears that some of the tubes are curved over the bolts. Seems like maybe the only thing that would work would be some kind of flexible allen wrench, but I've never seen one. Anybody have a similar problem that they resolved?

A couple of solutions;
1) Start with the end bolts on just enough to keep the header from falling. With the gap between the header and the heads, you might have enough room to get the bolts started.
2) Ball headed allen wrenches. As close to a flexible as you can get.
Hope that helps.

I use Allen-head bolts with an Allen key on my headers. They trick is to use one of the Allen keys with the "ball" end that acts like a universal joint of sorts. Worked great for me - looks better too IMO.

yes the key is using ARP allen key fasteners for headers with some antiseize.

Here's the bolts I have on mine, the hex-heads are smaller so you use a 5/16" wrench on them, I can use the box end on all the bolts with large tube headers.
