I just welded in some subframe connectors, kind of. I cut a piece of the floor out and welded the rear to the rear subframe and the front to the brace which houses the front subframe nut, then bolted the subframe in. First thing i noticed, my drivers door opens and closes excellent now whereas before the door would have to be lifted in order to be opened or closed. THe door also is aligned now. I believe it is stronger than before but wonder how much strength is being sacrificed due to not welding it right to the subframe. I am going to use poly subframe mounts. Has anybody installed theirs this way? What is your opinions on welding these in this way good or bad?
