Are there any Vortec style heads that don't use center bolt valve covers?
I'm interested in getting a set of vortec heads and experimenting with a new engine setup. But I despise the center bolt valve covers.
I have allot of friends ask me to build motors for their classics that look old school, but use all of todays best technology, and on a reasonable budget.

I've done a few, even a big block ford that punched out 620hp.

Now I have a friend asking me to build a 450+hp small block for his 65 Malibu.
So I want to try a set of vortecs for a change.
Do they make them for the older valve covers?

I think the Edelbrock Etecs use regular valve covers and they are a Vortec style head. But production gm vortec heads all use centre bolts.

I just saw a thing on HPTV about new moroso cast valve covers that are centre bolt style. I think they're about $140 and they look pretty good.

G.M pp makes adapters so you can use old school covers on center bolt heads.

The new GM Vortec - Bow-tie heads have dual pattern valve covers and also it will take the older type intake as well.
