At the moment I have my mind set on a new pair of MT drag slicks to address my infamous traction issue.

I was thumbing through a magazine the other day and it it samed that most of the high-end racers were using Goodyear Eagles. I wondered if this is because they are a better tire or just that Goodyear has a better support program for professional racers.

Goodyear can afford to give a lot of tires away.
Your car is gonna haul butt on good slicks.

Goodyears work great in ultra light chassis (1500-2500 pounds. But in the heavy sportsman cars (3000 pounds and over) you see a whole lot more Hoosiers and MT's than Goodyears these days. Hoosier concentrated on heavy cars and longivity gave them a big bite out of Goodyear market.

I would have to agree with Marv on this one. Before I bought my MT's, I talked with a lot of guys @ the track & most of them tried a lot of them before they ended up with MT's or Hoosiers. Mind you these are all sportsman racers with "heavy" cars.

I do think there is bucks involved as well.

Little off track but, is there any significant difference between MT ET DRAGS and ET Streets at the track?(assuming they are same size)

ive had problems heating up my mt's but im getting consistent burnouts and a little better traction on my goodyear dragway specials. i got a lot more use out of my mt's though, but i run them on the street and i cant imagine there being too much difference in the life or a track only tire.
