Hi, I was wondering how many 1971 z28's came with the CB code rear end
( 4:10:1). I was able to pull that code as well as O ( olds plant ) off the rear axle of my car and from what I have read most Z's came with the 3:73:1 rear. Thanks for the info

it indicates that the 4.10 ratio rear end on the Z28 would have been the ZQ9 option-performance ratio. The option list says that 1,294 cars were ordered with ZQ9.
Even with that number, I have some question as to whether all 1,294 ZQ9 optioned cars would have been the Z28s because the powertrain section of the page indicates that there was also an optional performance rearend available on the L65 engine, and that 3.42-performance rearend could have also been sold as a ZQ9 option on that car. It would take some additional research to know for sure what the code was for the L65.
