I am acquiring a Jegs 2-1/2 w/o mufflers kit. I plan on buying 2 offset/offset mufflers a friend of mine is sellin. Would that be ok? Or do I need to look at center/center? I dont know much about the kit, so I came to receive some expert advice?

You need offset in with center outs for a camaro if you want to use tailpipes, without moding them.

You did'nt buy the mufflers yet right? So it's no big deal. Just pick up some offset/center mufflers http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/smile.gif I highly recommend a pair of magnaflows.

Well, my cousin scored some aerochambers... And was willin to pass em to me. BUT offset/offset isnt correct. I was tryin to let my female counterpart buy me mufflers, and these were inexpensive... $$$ for Ma-naflows?

why not just get the jegs kit with the mufflers?

The Jeggs kit does not come with offset mufflers. It ALMOST fits right but remember, it is a universal kit. I took my car to a custom exhaust shop AFTER I bought and installed the Jeggs kit, they told me that I needed offset mufflers to get the tail pipes in better position. They tweaked the Jeggs pipes and replaced the mufflers with dynomax offsets and welded it up. With 4 people in the car, it still hits occasionally though. My point is that the the Jeggs kit is NOT a perfect fit. Hope that helps.

The Jegs 2 1/2 inch set with mufflers was a direct bolt in for my 79 camaro. I had a friend weld it up for 25 bucks and a case of beer but the bolt in seemed to fit. I had to cut down one of the tubes 3 1/2 inches. The whole exhaust set me back 169 bucks (plus about forty for the welding) but really sounds good. It is quiet at Idle and has a Nasty Rasp when you let it Rev.

I have the Jegs 3" kit on my car, fits VERY well, you have to run the off set in center out mufflersotherwise the tail pipes won't fit. Expect to do a little trimming on the pipes(just because their universal the pipes have a little extra length that will need to be trimmed). Here are some pics of my 3" jegs system w/ flowmaster delta race flows. You will deffently need either a H-pipe or a X-pipe to make the system sound good.

Both of my cars have offset offset and they work fine.
