Ok, I've been reading through all the previous posts and still can't make up my mind. Its seems like theres 3 different types of mini starters? The ones that look like the original only smaller, hitachi and gear reduction. Its time for a new starter and want to go the mini route, which one of those would be best suited for my dd '77? I have headers which is the main reason I want to go that route. Any advice on which one I should get? I've seen the Procomps on ebay for cheap, are they any good? All advice is apprecieated. Thanx

Powermaster seem to fall in line as a good bang for the buck, especially on a DD. I would steer clear of the cheap Evil Bay and internet special deals; they're usually junk. I also wouldn't go with the high zoot stuff like MSD unless I wanted everyone to know I had that kind of money.

When I rebuilt by engine in '88, I put a rebuilt high-torque unit on and it was still working fine when I replaced it in '04 with a mini. That's the real bang for the buck if you don't just want a mini.

DB Electrical on ebay. I bought one and it's worked perfect. Quite a few guys on Chevelles.com use them with good success as well.
