Okay. I was going to put my new headers on my car today, and I have to take the engine out to get them on. So I think I'm going to pull the motor and put a 350 in it instead of the 306(destroked 327). For a little better torque and also so I don't have to spin it to the moon to make power. So I'm going to probably go for a combo similar to this.
-350 4-bolt +.030
-Vic Jr intake
-Canfield 195cc heads with 65cc chambers (already have them)
-scat 9000 3.48" crank
-5.7 rods
-forged pistons that will put me in the 10.5:1 or 11.0:1 area.
-750 vacuum sec carb, maybe a demon
-headman 65104 headers
-a cam that would be streetable yet make decent power till 6000-6300rpm
I'm hoping to put close to 300 hp to the wheels. And be able to daily drive. don't want anything outrageous. And I would be happy with low 13sec 1/4 times. Thoughts?

Unless you were going to pull the motor regardless, you can put those headers on with the engine in the car.
For 300 to the rear wheels, you can tone down your parts list a little. If you're planning more street time, a dual plane intake will make better torque for a "hot street" engine. All you'll need is a 650 cfm carb too. There's a lot of cams out there that will pull to 6000+ rpm and have good streetability manners. Those should be decent heads for your plans. I'd pick a cam with about 230-240 duration @ .050 and run a 3000 stall with a 3.42-3.73 gear. You'd be easily in the LOW 13's and maybe mid to high 12's with decent traction.

If you have to buy the rotating assembly build a 383. The price is the same on the parts. Just a little extra grinding on the block. You won't regret the cubes and torque.

The motor that is in it is just leaky, it needs to be gone through, and have all the seals replaced, and I would like an engine with more low end torque rather than an extreme high rpm screamer.
It will see more street time than track time. So I'll probably go with a dual plane, maybe performer rpm air-gap. I will be running a 3.42 with a TKO-600.
As for the stroker, that would be nice, but I think I would rather have 6" rods with a stroker and that kicks the money up a good bit. I'll have to see what deals are out there when i start piecing it together.

Looks good, you may want to also consider the Performer RPM intake, it will have a little more street manners.

Thanks. I think I may have a nice motor when I get this together.
