I did a search but only came up with some general info. What I am mainly looking for is which acc brackets you used? I know the stock Fbody bracket puts the a/c in a bad spot, so I am looking at the Street and Performance brackets, but since I plan to run twin turbos I have some space issues.

Also, any recommendations for a FI tank? I prefer to keep the Aeromotive external pump since it has kept up fine on my 68 with the turbos. Now the motor and a 6-speed are going into my long dormant 70 Z28 project next spring.

I may even try and use a 4th Gen rear; friend is parting out his 93 with a Strange 12 bolt and it looks to be about 3" wider, wheel offset can cure that.

I did look at the corvette style bracket, but it stacks everything on the drivers side and will be in the way of the turbo header on that side. May still be an option, altho the S&P setup has a higher "bling-bling" factor.

So far as the 4th gen 12-bolt rear, if I can get it for the right price, it would be sweet. I need diff rear wheels anyhow (want to go to 9.5 at least), and it would just entail cutting off the 4th gen brackets and adding my perches.

I would say stay away from Street and Performance stuff... those guys really don't engineer stuff all that well.
I like Alan Grove Components for bracketry; but I'm all about functionality.
The 4th gen rear is going to be a nightmere, I reccomend against it.
Not only do you have to narrow it, but you also have to remove all of the LCA stuff in order to but on leaf spring pads.

Hadn't heard of Alan Grove before, I'll have to check them out for LT1 stuff.

The rear looks to be about 2-3/4" wider, so another 1.5" offset on the rims will cure that. Removing the brackets and adding the perches will not be much at all, have welder and cutter in hand.

My other option is to rebuild the existing 10-bolt that came with the car, adapt the rear disc brakes and all, and still not be as strong as the Strange 12-bolt.

Have one more request, can someone look at their engine and tell me where the crank pulley sits in relation to the front sway bar? I am a long way from mine and am looking at different pulley setups from work...

Seems to me it is just behind and above the bar?

*edit* Went to the Alan Grove site; only brackets they have mount the alt/comp way too high to clear my hood, look to be more for an older style street rod. Good prices though..

One more option I am looking into is using a bracket off a 5.7/5.0 Vortec. It mounts everything nice and tight, and uses the same width belt as the LT1. Only question is the crank pulley alignment, and how well everything will turn without the water pump pulley.

I'll do some eyeballing and measuring when I get back home in a week or two, since I have a '99 truck and the LT1 there to compare.

I thought sure there were some transplanted LT1's running around here..
