71 SS 350. the bottom (lobe) of the piston broke in 2, found it at the bottom of my oil pan. I'm figuring the wrist pin needs to be replaced since the rod could be shaking the piston. Could I remove the piston from the oil pan? Has anyone attempted this?

Nope, the piston will hit the main bearing web. The pin is pressed in the rod, really tough to get out of the rod and piston. Seen people drive them a long time with a broken skirt if that is what broke, not good for hot rodding though I'd guess.

You could concievably pull the head, drop the pan and pop it out the top. Going to the dentist is more fun. I'd pull it and fix it right, with good lighting and a clean work area to help.
