Anybody have an opinion on these? How is the sound?

Thanks,

I have the 2 1/2 ones on my 71 454 and 2 1/4 on my 73, both sound fine, they are generic turbo mufflers like the muffler chains sell. There is a shark on the case. They are louder than sonic turbos and not as sturdy/thick.

Are they real loud? If they sound pretty basic, that is exactly what I am looking for, I don't want too flashy a sound or a crappy tingy sound, I want a basic smooth tone for my 350. You got a 454 in your 71, I bet that's a blast!

thanks again,

Daniel when did you buy yours? Yours sounds like diff summit turbos than what I been getting through summit for the past 2 years.

The ones I bought from them are non logoed, blems from dynomax (might have a small scratch or nick on case).

100% the same as dyno max super turbos.

Very quite really. Not even louder than stock at idle, but a whole lot better tone/sound from them, then when you go WOT the exhaust gets louder but still nothing like flowmaster, thrush turbos, etc

We put a set on my dad's 327 and it sounds real good. 2.25" duals with headers and X pipe. Real quite and tame, with a deeper bass type tone to it.

I've been using them on mine for 3-4 years now. I have a X-pipe too, so I dont think they are too loud. They do not have the tingy sound old Flowmasters used to have, I hate that too! IMO, they are tons better than the Dynomax muffs they are "copied" after. The Dynomax's seemed to get louder the older they got. I ran them for one year and noticed a huge difference.

As far as flowing good, check out the sig http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif

we had the Summit Turbos on our Nova when it was on the street. Sounded good in my opinion. Typical "turbo muffler" sound.

Thanks everybody for the opinions, I have my eye on the summit header back system for my 80 z28, they come with those mufflers so, unless anybody has any flack about that kit, looks like the way to go for me.

Sincerely,

You might also check jegs. They have nice exhaust systems in 2.5" or 3". You can buy it with or without mufflers so you can choose whichever ones you want. If anything, just worth a double check.
