i am building my first street car its a 1982 z-28 camaro i have a 69 327 bored .30 over and a set of pistons, 7 are good 1 really badly scarred the part# is TC260-L and TC260-R the bad piston has a diffrent # but not identifiable. all i know is that they are domed pistons 30 over for 327. 11:5:1 64cc heads 9:75:1 76cc heads, i need one piston. or if anyone knows of any other reasonably priced pistons with the same comp. ratio or what this part# is it would be greatly appreciated, this is my first build so i want to do it right. thanks. ronnie

I would just buy 8 new pistons. Cheap insurance IMO. I would NOT just buy a random piston trying to match CR. Every piston has different burn charactoristics.

How bad is it scared??

Just the head where a valve kissed it or is the skirt screwed up??

Are these forged pistons?? TRW's maybe???

Skirt and ring lands OK?? If OK, use it!!

Fwiw, the old TRW's are tough as nails, although HEAVY!!

Cast or cast HYPER, no way, buy a new set like CM said!!

there was alot of contact to the piston and severe pitting on surface the top ring is locked in and you can see where someone tried to use a punch on it.

Throw it away!!

Buy a new set of forged flat-tops like the old TRW's or whatever, (Speed-pro's??), they are nowadays. And use 64 cc heads and either the Fel-pro #1094, .015" thick shim headgaskets or Mr.Gaskets .020" thick ones and you will be right at 9.75 to 1 CR so that you can use a good cam!!!!!

And spend the money to balance it too!

And I'd stab in a good solid lifer cam and use good valve springs and run the little bugger up as high as it wants ta go!!

At least 7,500 rpm!! These little engines are a real HOOT to me!!
