i have a 305 with a quadrajet, if im not gentle when pushing the gas it will bog and die

can this be fixed by tuning the carb, if it is, can you please post a tune your quadrajet for dummies?

My first guess would be the accelerator pump in the carb. I don't think just tuning the carb will help. Get your carb rebuilt and I think this will solve your problem. Rebuilding it yourself might be intimidating the first time, especially if you don't have someone around to help. Of course, I don't know your mechanical abilities so please don't be offended, I'm just generalizing here. Good luck.
