From a guy I talked to recently, 30-40 hp easily with BBC heads with those minor upgrades.

remember he in just listing what the heads will gain alone. Great heads and a great cam will gain even more.

Just to clarify that- the gains are all in HP at higher RPMs- a set of 781s with stock valves will produce just as much torque at lower RPMs as they will with larger valves/porting.

I don't know if it'd be only 30-40hp, it would really be dependant on the rest of your setup and usage- for example if you're running up to 7000rpm and choking- that extra air coming in might be the difference between falling flat on your face or pulling another 500rpm out of it, or- if you're running a big-ass tunnel ram and a cam that doesn't even start to produce good power until 3500rpm- those bigger valves could be the difference between sudden death and a nice ride.

All that being said- if this is just a street cruiser- you probably could have spent the money better elsewhere.

How much do you expect to pay for hp? A complete exhaust can set you back a grand and you might get 25 hp from it.

Sure you can get more, but you'll pay more. Guy said he has a stage 1, stage 2, and stage 3. He recomends stage 3 for aftermarket heads only cuz he hogs the heck outta them. http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif More to gain with those (and of course, it costs more).

What I had listed is a stage one - pocket port, hits the turns, the floors, valve job, bigger valves, unshrouds them, etc. Lots of little work adds up. 30-40 was a conservetive figure, since he can't say you'll get "63hp" from this work and that cam. Your results may vary...so its an estimate. But its just the minimum you'll get. http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/smile.gif
