i just finished my motorand started it today and well the rockers seam to make alot of noise. when the motor was built the machine shop said they were adjusted and i even went over them again when i got the block back. is it normal for the aluminum roller tip rockers to make more noise than a regular rocker. i mean theyre not crazy loud but i have herd quieter. its not like theyre clanking its just a little tapping that you can notice.

Some cams and rockers are just loud no matter what.

Alot of if not all of thethe comp cams, and some of the crane cams are pretty noisy.

All roller tip rockers seems to be alittle louder than stock stamp steel rockers.

the cam is a crane cams z cam and the rockers are from crane.

I don't know about your cam, but some very agressive hydraulic cams are notorious for being noisy. The Comp Extreme Energy line has been posted about here many times stating that the valvetrain was noisy. Not to say there is nothing wrong, maybe there is, but you might just have to live with it.

I run a hyd. roller cam with roller rockers and it makes noise. Like you said not real load just so you can hear it. I've messed with it for over a year, I could not beleave that it could/should make noise but Ive learned that it does! and I've learned to leave with it. When you are sure that evrything is right just turn the radio up.

Yeah, I would just say it's one of those noisy cams.

The crane cam that I know to be loud is the power max, and the crane Z cam is based off the power max cam

The comp cam that is known to be noisy is the extreme energy.

The reason why they are noisy is the fast ramp porfiles of those cams.
