either starter switch bad or bad wire going from switch to starter solenoid, or bad solenoid, or burnt fusible link depending on how modified or hacked your electricals are, or depending on how you hooked up your remoter starter you may not have voltage at the starter when in non-remote configuration.
do you have a multimeter?

And...........first check the neutral safety switch first. If it fails, you get the exact symptons you have now.

Sounds like the neutal safety switch alright. Try moving the shifter back and forth a few times and see if it will start then. If it starts up afterwards, its probably a bad neutral safety switch. Their usually located either on the steering column or in the shifter base itself if the shifter is an aftermarket unit. Hope this helps! http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif
