Here's the deal. I am selling my new car because I am going back to college. Call me a redneck, but i have had an 86 5 speed iroc z sitting in my yard for about 2 years now. I am planning on making it my daily driver again while I am in school. The car is sound except for the motor. I am planning on rebuilding it, adding a 400 something lift cam, scrapping the quadrajunk carb and doing away with the computer. I live in a place where there is no emissions testing. If i was to do away with the EGR valve, will the exhaust still smell bad to the point where anyone within 5 feet of the car smells like gas?

EGR usually isnt the cause of a gas smell....keep looking
