Well yesterday I pulled all the wiring out from under the hood of the caprice, well some of the wiring goes in the car under the dash... What I need to know is how much of the under dash wiring to I need for this motor to work in my car.. Im gonna try and rework the factory harness and use the 600 bucks Painless wants for a harness and throw a rebuild kit into the motor.. Any help would be appreciated

Speaking from the experience of swapping a 95 LT1 into a 92 camaro, and the ensuing month of wiring work, I'd say if you've got the $600 right now, drop it on the wiring harness. You'll have MANY LESS headaches...

And I don't think you ahve to worry about that damnable VATS system anymore with the painless harness.

you have 2 options... painless harness.. or send your harness away and have it reworked...

otherwise vats is gonna make you wanna pull your hair out
