Ok when I bought my car like 3 years ago it had a destroked 327 LJ motor that had very bad street manners. it has a forged bottom end (thats the only bottom end stuff they guy i got it from could remember) and canfield 195cc 2.05 intake 1.60 exhaust heads with 65cc chamber. I am wonder what compression do you guys think this motor makes? I'm not sure what type of piston, but it will run on 92/93 octane but anything less pings. 11:1 or 10:1. I'm just curious as to what pistons this motor has if they are domed or flattops.

I don't know what type of cam, but its way lopier and alot deeper than my dads 350 with a 280 or somthing a little larger in it. so i assume its at least that size. it took a new intake carb change major rejetting and tuning to get it to idle correctly.

If you guys can't help that's ok, I'm just getting curious. I want to take it apart, but it runs so well that if I can at all help it I would like to. I'm not real familiar with these sorts of things so anyhelp would be good. Thanks

There is no way to accurately measure compression without knowing full details of the internals to include bore size, stroke, head chamber cc's, piston dome or relief, gasket thickness and deck height. Here is my favorite site for figuring this stuff out... Good luck and post back.

First off, I figure a de-stroked 327 is a 301/302!!

That said, we need to know your head chamber cc size and piston type as well as what your piston down-in-the-hole is and finally quench distance to figure your CR!!

Then plug everything in here!!
