I'm putting a Chevy 350 in my Trans Am, and I have a couple of questions. First off, can I use the same mounts as the Pontiac 301 used? I know the perches are different, but what about the mounts. Secondly, which set of holes do I use for the 350? The mounts I have for the 301 only fit one way onto the cross member, so I'm wondering if I need a different set of mounts, and what the position of the mount is. Also, is there a way to make the shaker scoop work on top of the 350? I 've wanted to keep a live shaker on my car. I have a poncho conversion in the works, but money is preventing me from finishing mt 455 right now.

I'd have a look under the hood of a Chevy V8 Camaro to do some compare-and-contrast.

You should be able to keep that shaker scoop. I beleive the carb/air cleaner location on a Chevy small block would drop into almost exactly the same location as a Poncho, although height difference will probably need to be addressed depending on your exact combination of parts.

i think you will have to swap the mounts...

The engine mount is different but the frame mounts the same you just have to move it, trans crossmember is the same as well as the driveshaft.the fuel line and battery are on the opposite side of the car and the starter wires and altinator wires have to be modified their also on the wrong side and tooshort, the powersteering pump also cant be used or anny brackets off the engine.fan shroud and radiator i dont remember i think they will work with some modification.the shaker is a little off to the side but workable especially if u use a rochester carb an edelbrock wil set it up to high and the hood will close but with some pursuasion.

The problem is that none of the holes line up to move the motor mount, that's where I'm stumped.

I have what I need other than AC brackets for a long compressor

I have a Jet Performance 750 CFM, which is supposed to be the same basic carb.

The frame mounts are what stump me though, as none of the holes line up to move it.
