I'm thinking it's time to change my vacuum hoses - I've had the car a few years and they were on it when I got it, so I've no idea how old they are.
I was thinking of putting in braided hoses for the look, but wan't to be sure that it's OK to do so and it didn't need to be specific vacuum hose, as I've never seen it done before.

just don't use the thin walled windshield washer tubing. it'll collapse upon vacuum over time,, if not imediately. ask for the thick walled stuff off the roll from napa or car quest or the like. purchased by the foot when you get it off the roll.

Napa packages vacuum hose and windsheild washer line as the same thing.

that's pretty much my point,,, if possible,, not in the packages. maybe ask to get it cut from the 100ft. rolls/spools,, and doesn't hurt to ask if you can visually see it. they shouldn't have a problem with you looking at it on the roll before they cut it. the napa and car quest here keep the rolls in the back stock room.
not sure what thickness the braided types are. never really worried about my one vacuum line (to the distributor) and what it looked like. heck,, i guess one could paint the hose in engine color. hope it helps. andy

What about minimal vac hose and just bending some tubing to fit ???
I'm thinking about doing that for durability.....and heat resistance.

that's probably the best way,, like the transmission vacuum modulator lines,, where it's metal all the way with a 1 1/2" section at each end to connect it. that's what i did on m buddy's firebird. looks good to,, when you follow the lines of the car/fuel lines,etc....
