Well i will soon send my engine off to be honed a bit, and then after re install everything including the new pistons. But i have a question, my pistons that were previously in the block had a floating wrist pin and the new ones are press fit. Will the press fit most likely fit with my connecting rods or am i screwed??

Time for new rods I'm afraid.

oh shoot 70TT.. Didn't know you had floating pin rods. Press fit and floating pins will not interchange. You'll have to return your pistons and get ones for floating pin rods or keep your pistons and buy press fit rods

Crap :whine: lol, well im lost on piston choice again because they dont have the same 4 valve relief choice in a floating design. How much were the rods you are using Night Rider? Looks like the general cost of the floating piston for speed pro is around 26-33 each but which one for the same compression ratio?

Edit: Nevermind i lied just found the piston that has the exact same specs just with two valve reliefs and a floating design. Summit part number: STL-H631CP30

70TT.. Mine rods was $110, nothing wild or anything.. Stock GM X rod castings that had been re cond. Mangfluxed, ARP bolts installed, big ends resized, weight matched, etc.

Bought from www.competitionproducts.com

Any of you guys buying recon rods have the checked for bend and twist as we have been seeing a lot of junk stuff go through the shop in the last years as far as sizing ETC. We check the stuff when we balance there rotators.
