As I'm still a noob on SBC work, I have a question. I have a 305 in the '79 I just bought. I also have a 350 in the garage that I'm probably going to sell this weekend (Yeah, I know. But I have a good reason for selling). The 350 has the Accel 140003 Super Coil on the distributor. Can I just pull the stock GM HEI cap and install the 140003 on the 305 distributor, along with a new set of 8mm plug wires? Or, am I going to have to play with the timing and do anything else with the distributor?

The distributors are interchangeable. You can change the coil, but you may want to see if there is also a performance module in the other distributor, just in case, They will interchange to my knowlede with no problem. Coils just make it have a stronger spark. I just switched to an msd coil myself. 8mm wires are a good idea to my knowledge.
