Anyone Know Where I Can Purchase The Steel Coil Inserts For The Lower Radiator Hose. I Have Brand New Hoses Without Inserts. At Highway Speeds The Temp Is Shooting Up. Someone Suggested The Hose Maybe Collapsing. Any Direction Would Be Appreciated. 72 With A 396. Thanks. I Have Installed A New Thermostat And Have Dual Electric Fans. Probably Not Much Use At Highway Speeds Though.

There have been several posts on this issue, don't know if they were in this specific topic though. Seems no one is making a generic spring, at least of what I've heard of, and more and more newer hoses don't have the anti-collapse spring installed. Most people are pulling spring out of older hoses and working them in the new hoses. Hope someone will post up with updated info.

Got a U-Pull-It around? Or go to any junkyard and find your size, maybe theres a prize (spring) inside.

I've seen people bring this up before. Hoses no longer need springs is the answer. Try reving the engine and have somebody watch the hose to see if it collapses. It should do it in the driveway just the same as going down the road.
One other thing, as engine speed increases so does pressure. Ever notice how really old hoses start blowing up like balloons? Prob be more likely for a hose to collapse at idle than at speed......
