I was wondering if anyone would know what the tool that bolts onto the intake manifold (where the carb would usually be) that a cherry picker hooks onto to install an engine is called? and where i could get one

You can probably get one at AutoZone or most any auto parts store for about that price.

A load leveler might be helpful too. I have one from Harbor Freight.

Looks pretty slick, but man oh man if that thing let go......

I have never liked or trusted those plates.

w/o load leveler/tilter.. I run one chain across intake, bolted to the heads where intake bolts to.

Like pass rear, take out the next to last intake bolt.. Install a longer grade 8 bolt through chain and tighten into hole.. Run chain to driver side front of intake.. Remove the second intake bolt and install longer grade 8 and large washer through chain and into hole.. Hook cherry picker's hook in middle og that chain.

If using a load leveler.. It will have 4 chains on it.. Bolt each chain to each corner where intake bolts too. Pass front and rear, driver front and rear.. Hook the leveler's loop onto picker's hook.

This is the best way I know to pull or install an engnie but most of us don't have the facilities or tools. :(
