I just bought a 73' CLJ coded L-82 for my 73' 4spd project Z-28. There is no ridge at all at the top of the cylinders, have the forged pistons, pink coded rods, forged crank and heads. The block is very clean, but greased. Pistons (no rings) and crank are out of the block. Pistons are still stock, no overbore. Guy said car was in a wreck with less than 30K on it and engine has been in his basement since.

Should I just buy standard bearings/rings for this thing and put it back together or would this be stupid.......

I have a weland stealth intake and was thinking about a 6-650 carb. ANY CAM Recommendations!!!!! I was planning on having the heads re-done, I have two sets of the 545 heads and don't have the $$$ for aftermarket heads.

Help!!!

Have you got an estimate on the machine work for the heads? In my case, it's cheaper for me to get aftermarket ones because I need two new exhaust seats, and no less than sixteen valve guides replaced.
