Chevynut67 09-13-2005, 12:34:00 PM Have you seen this topic? http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/011318.html theflash 09-13-2005, 01:01:00 PM Most Aluminum radiators are either 1 or 2 core, but the cores are wider than the equivalent 3 or 4 core copper/brass radiators. Hoslapper 09-14-2005, 08:29:00 AM I hadnt seen that post, but thanks for the info guys, it helped alot!! merlin007 09-14-2005, 09:16:00 PM i got a jegs universal alum two core. its 19x31, fits like it was made for it, and was $179. Hoslapper 09-15-2005, 07:30:00 AM Merlin, I saw that in my jegs magazine! You had no problems with it? Are you running a BB or SB? Just wondering if it will keep a BB nice and cool? hhott71 09-15-2005, 05:21:00 PM How about an Aluminum radiator with plastic tanks that is DESIGNED and FITS 2nd Gen Camaros Part # is 438162 its a TRANSPRO, I found it foe $110.79 at rockauto.com It even has the tranny cooler. pdq67 09-15-2005, 11:00:00 PM Please check Northern Aluminum Radiator b/c they are Summits house brand generic jobbers. Good value to me.. I have one in my car now for my BB. pdq67 night rider 09-16-2005, 02:34:00 AM I'm with pdq67. I bought one of summit house brand 31" x 19" alum. rad and I like it. $180 And it works great to keep mine cool If you run an auto trans, you will need to buy a big add on trans cooler, as these rads don't have the cooler built into them.. But you should be running an add on trans cooler any way on a performance based car merlin007 09-18-2005, 06:30:00 PM mines cooling a BB. does good so far, im still in the shakedown process, so i dont have alot of info for ya. i will say that it doesnt have tranny cooler built in. im running a stand alone supercooler right now. but the fit and finish is grade A+. sorry the late reply [This message has been edited by merlin007 (edited September 18, 2005).] zeebad1 09-18-2005, 11:00:00 PM I have the "Northern" brand radiator in my car (for 3 years now), and it's great. Cools my smallblock on the hottest days, and it fit with absolutely no modifications to the car. All I had to do was to bend the flanges on the radiator flat with a rubber mallet (top & bottom), http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2002-12/78039/Radiator002.jpg http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2002-12/78039/Radiator004.jpg and it fit under the stock holddown using the original rubber mounts. The cap is very close to the hood, but it does not touch. Hoslapper 09-20-2005, 03:57:00 PM Guys, I order a jegs aluminum radiator. It was the same radiator as summits and I have always had good luck with jegs. It is $180! That is very reasonable...Thanks again |
