Couple of questions. GOt my new engine started last night. Couldnt really tune it because of the time of night. What should be my initial timing? When should I have full advance by? The holley carb I am using is a 3310 750 Vac secondary. When the mixture screws are in all the way it seems to idle highest???? What could this be? Seems to be no vacuum leaks. Pressure is at about 5.5 psi. At 6 or more the carb starts has drops of fuel going into the secondaries of the carb.

The initial timing should be around 12 degrees, all advance should come in by about 3400 rpms 9roughly) and you set the mixture by hooking up a vacuum guage and adjusting the mixture screws until you get the highest possible vacuum. Thats the basic jist of it all.

It sounds like you have the throttle plates open too much. If you're screwing the idle mixture screws in all the way, the engine should die.
Loosen the idle speed screw until the engine is just about to die.
Back out both idle mixture screws the same amount until the idle goes up.
Keep repeating the process until you get an idle of ~6-700 RPM with the highest vacuum reading possible.
