Here is what I have.

355 with 10.3:1 compression
Forged flat top pistons
Lunati 60104 cam http://www.holley.com/Hioctn/ProdLine/Products/IEC/IECC/60104.html
Edelbrock performer rpm intake port matched to 1205 gaskets
Fully worked double hump heads with 2.02/1.60 valves

It will be purely a street car. I was thinking a holley street avenger 670 or 770 or maybe an edelbrock 750? What do you guys think?

Is a choke a requirement?

I think the 670 should be plenty. Lots of people put too much carb and end up with a poorly running engine. Just my$.02.

I suppose not. It wont be driven in the winter months. Just nice days.

You mean my 1050 dominator might be to big for my little ole 383 stroker? ;)

BTW if anybody here has a nice carb for sale let me know. I am searching ebay right now and have found a couple good looking deals.

I found 1 670 street avenger with low miles on it for 165 shipped.

Id go with a 750 mech. secondary holley on just about any mildly modified or better 350

I think the 670 Avenger is a good choice. As stated above, many people try to go with a carb that is too big, one of the 4 main hot rodder mistakes (too much carb, too much cam, not enough stall, too tall rear gears). I think a double pumper is advisable only when your car will see significant track time, something you said your car would not see. Good luck.

Purely street? I'd go for the 770 Avenger or a good old 3310. The Q-Jet is also a good match but I'm a Holley guy.

Thanks for the input guys! I found a guy in our local car club with a like new holley 750 with vacume secondary and electric choke and he is going to let me have it for $75. I wanted to avenger 670 or 770 but money is tight right now and this carb for $75 fits the bill perfectly I think.
