can anyone tell me what the heads on a 78z28 350 are like ,are they 76cc or smaller and what was the compresson of the motor thanks

'882's w/76cc chambers common - but that is not to say that's what you have. The only sure way is to pop a valve cover and check the casting number. One you have that, go to mortec.com and check it out.

Like Corky said... Mortec will only tell you how a particular head number it was originally built.

If the heads have been planed, ported or reworked for larger valves there may be a discrepancy between mortec's figures and your heads actual comp. ratio, flow rate, valve size etc.

I've also seen 462624 on there.
