Hey guys, read the wiper motor was the place to go for a switched on power source. White wire? Only problem is on a 79 there is no white wire ;)

Haven't got a battery in yet, so I can't check the system myself..

There are two black/yel stripe wires, a light blue, a tan and a green I think.

Has anyone done this already to tell me which wire to splice? Thanks again.

Wait till you get a battery in and back-probe the wires to check for voltage in the key-on position. Probably the yellow (which was once white but discolored with age and dirt).

I just tapped the IGN/HEI lead. Actually, to be technically correct, I used the IGN/HEI lead from the bulkhead (pink wire) to trigger a relay controlled circuit for the HEI, turn on my DCC fan controller, run power to the choke & run power to my hood light. LOL.
