Has anybody here ever installed a tbi system in there 2nd gen camaro?
The gas prices are insane, and I wanted a more gas friendlier setup.
It'll also look like I have a carb still in there.
I need to know a breakdown of what wires power the system, and what wires I don't need.
I'm pulling my setup from a 88 firebird.

TBI is not the best setup. You will see some improvement, but TPI is much better.
IIRC you really just need 12V switched and unswitched and ground to the computer. The rest of the wires go to the sensors, solenoids and injectors and are part of the harness to the computer. It looks like a big mess, but it's not that bad.
If you want to eliminate some of the wires you will have to get a new chip burned, otherwise the computer will be unable to find some of the inputs it expects and will go into "limp home" mode.

I have looked at going TBI in mine, but the TBI units do not flow a lot of air (~500cfm). They also only have 2 injectors so they do not support very much horsepower. I was thinking of doing a dual TBI conversion and controlling it with the Megasquirt DIY controller. Maybe one day I will have the time and money to finish it off.
