Okay. Im looking for a 350. My uncles friend knew a guy that left a smallblock over in his moms barn out of his transam. Guy moved away and died so the engine is without an owner. He said if his friend shows up asking for the engine, hell shit his pants.

Said I can have it if I want it. Its mostly there but disassembled.
Ive got the intake and head on me. Also a piston.

Piston measures 3 15/16" across
Is this a 350 or do you need more info? I dont know what the bores are on different SB's other than 350's

Id like to know soon, since I could pick up maybe by tonight

Thanks

3-15/16 sounds like a 307 block.

Where would I find the casting numbers on a head?

Casting numbers: small block Chevy is on the driver's side on the flat area where the transmission bolts on.

Small block Chevy heads: have to pull a valve cover to see the casting numbers.

Go to mortec.com as they have all the block and cylinder head casting numbers for small and big block Chevy.

Just as I feared. Its a pontiac engine. I think its a 350. I might be able to sell it to somebody or possibly trade maybe
Any easy ways to tell what pontiac engine it is?
Its got most stuff with it yet, except for the crank
