How much more horsepower would i get with 33382( 1.94 1.5 76cc) heads over 14014416( 1.84 1.5 58cc) on a 350. Same setup.. headers, 650 carb, intake,3.42's.

333882.....74-80...350/400......76cc chambers (Assuming that's a typo)

14014416...80-86...305..........1.84"/1.5" valves, 58cc chambers

You'll be loosing HP, neither are a good choice for any type performance. Stick with the 305 heads, at least you get a torque advantage.

while I agree neither is a desirable head I think you'll notice a huge difference going to the 58cc head I switched from 882 to 58cc small valve 305 heads and picked up 1/2 a second in the 1/8 mile (9.8 - 9.2) and shifted 500 rpm lower.

Those 416s are just as good as any of the old double-hump 'fuelie' heads if you install some 1.94/1.60 valves.

If you go on thirdgen.org there's a lot of information on making the 305 heads work. Some claim vortec comparable flow #'s after porting.

You will lose a ton of compression by going to the larger chambered 882 head.

keep the heads u have on now, if u change to 882 with 76cc without changing to a dome style piston, u will lose alot of power. it will be a "dog".
Not good.

882 heads are notorious for cracking also. Plus loosing compression will kill ya. The 305 heads can be made to run up around 300HP no sweat.

Why no Vortec's? .

I think he's not spending any money just advice on what available set of heads to use?

yeah.. and i would be very happy if my cars was in the 265 to 300 HP range. Crate engines make that with regular heads,, thats what i want.
