Well like the title says
Can I relocate the oil pressure switch from the back of the block to a different more easy to reach position?????
I have a switch for a oil pressure gauge and not for a light.
Thanx Guys

Why do you want to move it?
Anyway, you really have to go from that port in the block. There isn't any other place on the block you can thread into when the engine is together and the transmission is mounted.
If you wanted to run a hose (preferrably braided stainless line) from there to a more convenient place you could do that, but why would you want to?

Sure you can IF you can get one out!!
I'm talking about the little bitty pipe plugs down by the drivers side oil pan rail!!
BUT usually one will be a bear to remove!!
Does your block by chance have the little-bitty pipe plug just above the center of the water pump pulley just to the right of the centerline of the crank right above the timing cover casting boss b/c if it does, you can use it!!
Otherwise I would "T" or whatever you want to do to the port back by the dizzy now. DORMAN(??) has all sorts a stuff to help you out here if I remember the name right at a good NAPA store. They should have a GREAT big wall mounted pull drawer cabinet of stuff to pick through....

Well I have a ZZ383 which i`m gonna build with TPI set-up and there is very little room for the big sender unit so I was thinking of replacing it to a different location.
How about the small plug that`s just above the oil filter I know there are senders placed sometimes but I don`t know if this wil give an accurate reading of the pressure.

Most of the time people install some fittings to move the sender a little bit. IIRC, GM used a T fitting with the big sender horizontal and a smaller one vertically when using EFI.

That's where my sender is for my auto meter gauge. I had to use an reducer and then an elbow. Then the sender screwed into that. I have a photo somewhere here. BRB

This is the way I did mine. Works great with plenty of clearance so far.

My set up clears the z-bar and headers great. I routed the wire back to the engine harness loom and it almost looks factory. But I had the advantage of installing all of it with the engine on a stand.
I have the headers and z-bar off of it now if anyone needs better photos just let me know.
