Comp sells what you are looking for, they are called spring seats or spring locators. Your local speed shop should be able to help you out. One quick question, why use a small spring when you have the option to use a larger one? There are much better choices in spring sets with different spring rates to suit your particular application than a stock diameter spring.

im getting the 327 back together to have something still to run for a month or 2 until my 383 is done.im going back to a .488 /234@.50 cam i picked up for cheap and a set of 461s i have with a 1.6 rocker...i figured stock diameter would work decent...not looking to dump a ton of money, just something to take to the track and work on the tree and driving.
also call me lazy but i really dont wanna go through the hassle of pulling inners for cam breakin for something thatll be in my car for that amount of time..

If you can't find what you need, or can't find it fast enough, you can just let the bottom of the valve spring float around on the bottom of the larger spring pocket. I do this all the time on real mild engine combos. Little 1.25" springs don't walk around as much as bigger/heavier springs do, especially not in the mild RPM range that most stock diameter valve springs operate in.
For instance.... my Wife's Camaro, below, has Dart Iron Eagle heads on it which are machined for 1.55" valve springs but I've only got a little set of Crane 1.25" #99848 springs in it. Nothing locating the bottom of the spring on that head and it runs just fine out to 6000, which is plenty high since that's beyond where the cam is pooped out anyway.

92 Camaro RS. Out with the old 195K mile 305 TBI motor, in with a super mild low-buck carbureted 350 built entirely from spare parts I had laying around the joint. 13.5 @ 104 on a biffed run with the new 4.10 gears. If knew how to drive it would run 13.3 or better. Still using the worn-out original 200K mile tranny and stock stall converter.
78 Malibu. Inherited from my Grandomther with only 35K on the odo! 13.4 @ 107 with mild N/A 383. With Weiand 142 blower installed....... not quite so mild. Orignially shooting for 11.99 on street tires, but mid 12s appears to be the best it's gonna do. Too much cam, not enough converter and nowhere near enough traction.
