The smallest line that runs up the pass. frame rail to the pump is your return line. The larger line next to it is the main feed. The 3rd line that runs on the driver side is a vent line that sould go to a charcoal canister in front of the drivers side fender, unless it has been removed.

Hmm. I'm not sure. I have an 80. I should of specified that, sorry. I just have 2 (one feed one return) on the pass. side. Not sure if 71's have the canister either. I Think they came out later on, along with some of the other smog garbage.

I'm curious too. I have a 71 and I have all the same lines you mentioned, and according to that diagram the single drivers side one must have been for the charcaol canister (mine has also been removed). I still have the hard line in the engine compartment right over the inner fender. I at first put a vacuum cap over it, but would get a serious build up of pressure in the tank, so I found the tiniest K&N filter and put that over the line.

Does anyone have an illustration like what ghostrider78Z had but for 71?
