I have recently been hammering my fresh AFR headed 383 w/9.85 comp. and Comp 276 XE HR, 770 street avenger, air gap; Well, I have determined it to be RICH and will need to regulate fuel pressure down to around 6psi(now 7.5psi) but it smokes pretty good as soon as I lift the throttle after running it through the gears at WOT, shifting at 5600. The smoke is white and smells gasey but with that much smoke I and wandering if it is oil. What does this sound like to you guys?

Sounds like oil smoke and to me it sounds like the cause of it is vac. I would check/replace intake gaskets.
What you said is pretty common signs of intake gasket not sealing at the bottom of the port.
Drop the hammer engine has 0" of vac, let up on throttle real fast and vac will go to around 20" or so for a split second.
That high vac draws oil in from the lifter valley through a leaky intake gasket and into the heads. Where it burns in the chambers and exits out the pipes as oil smoke.

I agree with night rider....white smoke is either oil or water, and if it hangs around a while, it's oil. There has been a rash of leaky intakes, so I'd check that first or either retorque the intake good.
