I could use your guys quick help again.

So far the trans tip I got are working.
Was able to drive all over town today with no shifting problems.

But something bad happened to my qjet carb.
I did notice before that if I turned sharp it would bog for a sec sometimes.
But today on final leg home for over hr trip, I took two sharp turns to avoid traffic and it went all to hell on me and died,

Popped hood and intake was flooded with gas. Just a massive pool of gas on it, glad it didn’t burn up.

Towed it home and squirted the gas off with a hose then cranked it some more and a sec later gas just start spewing out of the top of the carb.

Sound like a simple rebuild time or worse?

hahah funny stuff thats exactly what my qjet was doing when I bought my car from the junkyard. I just took off a bunch of crap going to the carb and put it back on and it stopped, then bought a holley after I realized the carb way warped (you might want to check yours for that). Thats all the help I can offer. If it's leaking out of where the top section bolts to the middle section than it's probably warped.

Sounds like the float is stuck is all. A rebuild is probably the best route,,, but I promise you a many of Q-jets have been convinced to not flood with some gentle coaxing of a tire iron.

and no I'm not kidding.

Marvs right just give the bowl a couple of taps and the float should drop back down.

I have never used a tire iron but the handle of a hammer or tapping the carb with the butt of a screwdriver will generaly seat the float and stop the spewing of gas.

carb was rebuilt around 70,000 miles, had 67,000 when I got it.
Just broke 80,000 this year, up to like 81 now......

Float is stuck down. Most of the time they get ruined by dry gas eating them just enough to make them sink like a rock. The real fix is to get a new float and replace the needle & seat assembly (which means a rebuild kit).

Ahh even better tip, I have run some dry gas as it was free. DOH

Still waiting to find out part # but one feller suggest going to the brass floats only found at NAPA cause neprume or how ever ya spel it ones suck like scooty puff jr.
