Hello, I have a 75 sport coupe, with a bunch of pollution control still on it- is there a thread on this forum outlining proper procedures to get rid of all this crap. I am new to this forum, so I figured the quickest way to find the information would be to put a call out and maybe some regulars can point me in the right direction. Thanks

Welcome :)
IIRC, the '75's were either a 6 cylinder or a 350 with a 2 bbl or 4 bbl carb. Which do you have? How close is you current engine to stock?
Are you looking for a cleaner engine bay, or are you looking for some performance gains? If you want performance, do you have some $$ to spend (ie. what's your budget)?
The more you can share, the better the answers will be.

In THREE WORD!!
DON'T STRIP IT!!
Leave the crap on it b/c it really doesn't hurt performance all that much!! PLUS it's the LAW!!
If your area check's for it or not!!

Since this is for off road use only if I wanted to pep up a 75, and I feel for you as I lived through that era of motors, I'd remove the smog pump, I'd install a new intake with a Holley 570 Avenger, I'd ditch the HEI and install a MSD small cap with external coil and install light silver and blue springs, install headers and a free flow exhaust.
Just taking off the polution control stuff isn't going to gain you much of anything. The spark, fueling and exhaust are what will wake it up.

He's in BC ... I don't know the pollution laws in BC but I'm pretty sure you can take it all off.
Step one:
take many many pictures of the engine bay so you know what goes where.
Step two:
evaluate the smog controls, do you have a charcoal canister, air pump, pre-heat stove, exhaust preheat valve, egr valve, carb pre-heat passages, etc etc.
Parts which I would reccomend removing entirely are air pumps, preheat, egr.
PCV valves and charcoal canisters do not affect performance at all. IMHO.
I took everything off and put on an edelbrock carb and manifold and it was a huge difference. add headers and you're really talking.
If you want to use the stock carb and manifold you're going to have get a lot of plugs for all the holes, and make sure you understand the vacuum routing first.

Yeah, In the large city centers in British Columbia, there are air care restrictions, the agricultural areas are exempt. Thanks for the info- I guess the thing to do now is to map out the air flow.
