View Full Version : Tore Block apart..Is this normal? l:( slo406 08-18-2005, 05:34:00 PM So im tearing my 400 block apart and finially got the head mani and accesories off so i can the short block in to have 5.7 rods and forged .30 over pistons installed..But i found one..Just one bore and piston that was covered in mold and rust..The entire bore, piston as well as the corosponding valves were all rust/mold covered..Does this mean this engine over heated and blew a head gasket? Im overclocking the bore anyways..and new heads are going on too, So i dont really care..Its just that the guy i bought it from said that the engine ran in the truck it was in and it was compression tested before it was removed so im gonna confront him and get some cash back if he did try to screw me..or get my bottem end put in for free. theflash 08-19-2005, 03:08:00 PM Take any pics of it?
