Throwing lifters? This I gotta hear.

Do you mean that the pushrod bends/breaks and then the lifter pops out of it's bore? If so, it's not the lifter's fault.

'96 is the first year for the 4.6 right? So it's OHC?

Scrappygt, who told you that was the problem? Mr. Evilwrench?

I hope you haven't been paying someone to replace them.

There are lifters and rocker arms in a 4.6 ford OHC engine, the only thing they lack are pushrods, other than that they have the same components as a cam in block engine.

i thought the cam sat directly ontop of the valves or directly under the rockers, in an OHC engine?

is the lifter the buffer between them?

Let me be the one to point out that this is a 2nd Generation CHEVROLET CAMARO bulletin board/user group- not a FORD Mustang board. If you have a Camaro great- let's here about it- otherwise you would be better served at a Ford-dedicated site like www.fordmuscle.com (http://www.fordmuscle.com)
