While you have it out PLUMB IN a new vent and return line in the size you need. DO NOT RELY on anything that is already there. I learned this the hard way. I found that I have fuel coming out of my "vent" line (the original vent line to the charcoal canister. I thought I was leaking at my regulator... not the case! I was pouring fuel down the inner fender and on the ground. Fortunately it was not onto the header.

Use a 3gen fuel sending unit. It fits right into the 2gen tank opening and has hookups for the fuel coming and going.

I finished removing and re-installing my tank and plumbed new lines a little while ago. I used a small tire and 2 by 4's nailed into an X and a jack to hold up the tank. keep the tank supported until you remove all the lines, straps and sender wires. I jacked my car up high enough, then just bent the straps back (after removing the 2 back bolts) towards the axle until I got the tank out.It helps to have an extra set of hands. But it is doable alone. A hoist and a tall jack would be the easiest way.
After I removed my fuel lines gas continued to flow out of the tank until I finally plugged the vapour line. Guess it had some kind of syphoning effect going on? Might wanna keep that in mind.
