My 15 y/o LLTW Autozone Duralast starter is cranking sluggishly w/ the advent of Summer. It always had trouble cranking in hot weather even w/ a heat shield. I see on the Autozone website that they offer a Peak Performer starter w/ LLTW for $160, Hi-Torque chrome LLTW starter for $180 & a painted Hi-Torque LLTW starter for $200. Are these other starters 4-5X's better than my Duralast, as they are priced commensurately higher?

Definitely stay away from the chrome starter if you are having heat soak issues, it will only get worse. I'm not familiar with the brand (LLTW) you're talking about but I'm using a Summit mini starter ($149) and have no problems.
