Is there a way to clean a holley carb and not turn it silver? I have one with some gasket material stuck to the bowls and blocks. Can I get it off easy and leave the new bought finish?

Permatex makes a spray on gasket remover that won't hurt the finish. It kind of smells like ammonia, but it bubbles the gasket right off. Holley gaskets are the biggest pain in the butt!

Make sure you use the blue re-useable gaskets when you put it back together.

Holy smokes, I know many of them also. Very common name here in Poquoson.
