i was checking to see if my pushrodds were the right length and i noticed that some of the pushrods are verry close to the head. how close is to close? i could see light between the head and pushrod so they werent touching but close.

The closeness will depend on where the rockers are at with respect to the valve lift.

In other words, if the valve is half open, it will be as far as it ever will be and if the valve is either wide open or closed, it will be as close as it gets..

Just make sure none of them rub the end of the slots and if they do, buy a $30 "Louis/Slotting" tool and drill them out using a 5/16" bit and a 1/4" drill.
