Hi~
I'm new to this site. A friend told me I could go to this site to track the engine ID numbers to find out all the info on the engine I just purchased, (where and when it was cast, year and what it was put in to...etc) however, after some digging around on the site I can't seem to find the right place to look.

I'd appreciate a little help directing me in the right direction.

Thanks,
:bowtie:

You'll need to get the #'s off the block..

In front, pass side, in front of head over towards the intake will be a "pad" sticking off from the block.. This pad will have the stamp #'s.. Clean that real well and get those #'s

Then on rear of engine, driver's side on the flange where trans bolts too.. Will be the casting #'s.. Clean that and get them #'s too

Also of you look on that same flange, over to the center/pass side a tad you should see the "casting clock" and date code.

Get all those #'s and post them on here and we can decode them for you
